Just to chime in - I just bought a new car (2014) and was happy to write a check and pay cash.
I did all the math - the financing would have cost me about $1500 (give or take - maybe it was a...
I've heard better ideas.
Also puzzling is why post that to this thread?
It's on-topic. We can talk about his "collection" of SK book title tattoos.
Don't be jealous just because he's a completist and you're...
Yeah, I shouldn't say they definitley will rip or whatever - papers are all different. I have some that are okay.
The problem is if the crease sets in, that's it, it will never unfold properly...
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but once you've sealed the newspaper into the bag within two years you won't be able to unfold it without it ripping.
Newsprint will last forever, but it will not hold...
And the worst part is it's not even cash - all he needs to do is his actual job as a painter.
So yeah, I'd cut an artist some slack - so BE an artist!
That's exactly how I remember it. There was gossip about the book before the band, which led me to buy a hardcover before all the hoopla. (at least in my memory)
What's funny is that happened...
I agree with regards to "19" for a TDT book, but maybe value is the wrong way to put it. I do see a quirky, "Nice to have" value in a lower number, but I don't feel the same regarding a letter for...
We have a thread or two on this.
The WSJ article had an important line in it:
"Many collectors of old stuff—things of mostly sentimental value, such as matchbooks, menus and postcards—worry...
Jesus - don't give anybody ideas.
"Exclusive! Traycase to protect slipcase, inlaid with art - limited to a signed/limited edition of 25 signed by the artist."
"New! Glassine cover to protect...
Right - and not only that, more of those will probably show up for sale than s/l editions (or a greater percentage I should say)...at least I think so.
Haha...well, that was never a secret. It's the one item I'll ever have that's one-up on Bob.
I just want it on record that I had an advance-advance-advance review copy of DT VII several months before there were even printed advance copies - at I think 6-8 months before the book itself - and...
Is there a story about this "Null Set" situation - that link above just goes to a blank forum?
And yet "Transgressions," from the same publisher is a $450 book (or less)....there are valid reasons for that, but it's still strange, considering the small limitation.
That's funny - I have I, III-VII of #71...I got DT I, then lucked into getting III or IV after that...so it's possible.
I've been looking for DT II #71 for a loooong time, though.
Really? I'd like to see some links.
That def. could be true - but it's also true that Flatsigned allegedly used shill bids, etc....so it's also possible that he bid as the high bidder when the price was less than he wanted to sell for....
At first I liked the signature okay, but with a closer look I'm no better than 60-40 that it's legit...it probably is, but I dunno...I notice the same weird line breaks noted above.
The...
