All the Pretty Horses is such a normal, romantic story compared to other books by him. It started way slow for me..put it away a couple times..but I ended up really enjoying it. Frank Muller reads...

Have you gone on to read anything else by him? It took me a while, but I liked Narcissus and Goldmund, and Journey to the East when I got around to them.

Went back to Insomnia shortly after I last posted...most of the way through now. It's fast reading but a slooooow build-up!

I can understand why it's polarizing - I don't think I would recommend it to a friend out of the blue. It's not an enjoyable book.

Thinking about it reminds me of a graphic novel by Dan Clowes...

Infinite Jest is a book that made me feel a little sick sometimes, but I couldn't stop reading it.
