That happened to me years ago...
I got the s/l DT I, and then the DT III and IV showed up after that as a matched set - then of course I had V-VII locked in.
So it CAN be done...although, I'm...
Wow - I can't believe you pulled that off. Good job!
In most cases, it would be difficult to get anyone to listen to you, but this is the exception that proves it IS possible.
I don't know about an awesome deal, but it's a good deal - it is an out-of-series S/L edition, after all. I think a signed older book like that is worth $150 for the verified signature alone.
9/24/05 - I can't remember what it was, but I'm pretty sure that corresponds to some NYC event? I vaguely remember a buzz around that date.
Were you the seller who consigned it with Betts?
Who's to say? Haha
And so Skeleton Crew heads to another shore...
New pride and joy arrived last night.
Packing material was a little soft - could have used some more bubble wrap maybe, or maybe it popped along the way? I dunno? But it came through just fine.
Seller is being a bitch and insisting his packaging was adequate and this is USPS' fault so I should just file an insurance claim. eBay will no doubt have to resolve this one way or the other, as it...
I got a New Lt. Rap for $350 years ago - it was actually listed at $250 on a bookseller site....I (correctly) had a feeling he would get multiple offers, so I TOLD him that he had underpriced it and...
Not to be contrary, but is that a good idea? I'm not sure how/if a remarque enhances the value of an s/l edition as unique as that one. It's almost rare enough as it is?
I dunno...I'm not even...
The bottom line (answered with tongue-in-cheek) is not everything I do makes perfect sense or is explainable rationally. (Just ask my wife.) It is a bitchin' cool book and I really wanted it.
...
Bob - you said before you're not a fan of aftermarket traycases, etc.
So how is that not an "aftermarket" book in your eyes? How is it a legit collectible?
(serious question)
I'm a little irritated they didn't get the hyphen between "would-be shooter." It is a book that's supposedly using proper language, after all...
(if you're wondering why it matters, read the...
If I saw them listed by someone with 'zero' feedback, I probably would semi-wonder about legitimacy...but if the seller had a decent reputation, they're fine...but like you said, it's a moot point.
Well, doesn't that make you quite the little huckleberry... :-)
Agreed...to me, that was always Val Kilmer in Tombstone...anyone who'd seen the movie would know that instantly.
If you had NOT seen the movie, then it's open to interpretation.
Ahem....I don't think Tom's recent pride-and-joy received enough attention.
What's the backstory of Full Moon Press? Was there a controversey with them?
That's a legit-looking edition!
What's the deal about 350 down to 150? So they reduced the limitation? Maybe because of unsold copies?
