As much a fan I am of the Alan Lee illustrated 3 volume LOTR sets- this was an instant HARD pass for me at $1500. Half that price would give me pause. I guess Folio will keep ramping up their prices...

My Deluxe is fine, no problems that I can see. Very glad, also, that you all seem to be getting good copies. Maybe that does mean that these problems are not widespread. I really like this edition....

Oh Boy. So, the Tolkien collector's on a facebook group are reporting wide spread severe issues with many of the Deluxe copies making their way out there. I'm still trying to gather what those issues...
