For what it's worth, I think you did the right thing. The seller should have disclosed the problems with the Gunslinger. It's frustrating and disappointing to win an auction for something like that...
I would agree. There comes a tipping point when you're spending so much on a book(s), you might as well have the perfect copy for a bit more $ rather than save and settle for the flaws.
