That's generally the reason I value them less. It also makes me want to book less if it contains authors and/or stories I don't care for, even if it has an SK story/signature.

Amazon lists the dimensions of the paperback as 5 x 0.7 x 8 inches . I assume later printings are the same size, but can't confirm.

I'd keep the undamaged one too. All else being equal I'd take a lower letter, but I'd only care if it was actually the only differentiator.
