Indiana seems to get confused when it comes to switching seasons. Where I'm living for college the temp is going from 54 (today) to 87 within three days and then back down again. Drives me insane!

IMO I think it would be better to read the rest of the books first, or at least the first 3 or 4, just so you have a better understanding of the characters themselves. Also, if you plan on reading...

Now that sounds like it royally sucked, medicated or not haha.
