I first read Pet Sematary while I was traveling on business in a VERY small airport (two gates!) in Virginia at about 9 in the evening. I was the only person except for the ticketing agent, who was...
One of my favorite Simmons!

I can't now remember if we ever included the "ending" category when we voted on King books. I wonder which would win; UtD must be at the very bottom, anyway.
Though I (who loved UtD)...
I really did enjoy Abominable. It sure didn't go in the direction I expected.

Amanda, The Stand has to be one of my mostest favorites of King's books. I literally read two paperback copies to pieces before I finally got an inexpensive hardcover. Sorry you don't like it.

Simak has been one of my favorites for a long, long time. I mourn his passing.

I've started my umpteenth rereading of The Lord of the Rings. Magnificent!
John
I just started the new Robert Galbraith (J K Rowling) novel, Career of Evil, and really, really like it! One heck of a beginning!
John
I first read Dune when it was serialized in Analog SF magazine. I remember liking it quite a bit back then.
John
I've started my reread of Bazaar of Bad Dreams.
John

John
Simmons is one of my favorite authors, but I REALLY did not like Winter Haunting. It just left be blah!
John
Just started a reread of Salem's Lot. It's been quite a while since I read it.
John
I enjoyed Abominable, Terror and Drood. Not so much Black Hills or Fifth Heart.
John
I agree that starting with either Summer of Night or Song of Kali would be great. Simmons has other, more complex, works (the period pieces--Drood, The Terror, The Abominable and others) that may...
Chris, do you mean stuff like Mary Higgens Clark?
