It will be done as a stand alone film special in between seasons. So will Wind Through The Keyhole. I think he mentioned that Book 1 & 2 will be the first season. Book 3 for one. Book 4 and 5...
I remember when this idea was first talked about years ago with Ron Howard (I think) and doing a split of movies and TV show. I couldn't figure it out then either.
I just have questions on how it would be split up.
I've always imagined that 1 season would equal 1 book. But book one is so short that they'd need to extend it out somehow.
And I'm not sure...

Interesting. I wondered what happened to that. I had posted about it in one of the random musing threads I think. The YT videos still exist but are now marked as "unlisted".

This looks like it really had a chance to be good. I can't believe it's not happening. :mad1:
Or if nothing else, start with the first book but have flashbacks to the W&G story scattered throughout. I mean the first book is a lot of flashbacks anyway. If done right, you could have a story...
I still don't think movies can come close to the story telling power a TV series can. Take walking dead as an example. They have 16 episodes in a season. That is pretty close to 16 hours of story...
I was introduced to the DT story right around the time that W&G came out. Like most everyone else though, I started with the first book and read them in release order. Although it seems to me that a...
That seems backwards?
Don't know anything about the actor but even though he's 25, he looks like he could pass as a teenager.
Good to see this moving forward. Hopefully it will spawn better adaptions of the entire...
Likely because they can fit the entire story into a season or 2. Plus it allows the entire series a re-boot from the movie. It's sort of an origin story and if it does well, then they can talk about...
As they should. It's three books that won every award ever vs books that not even all King fans can get through whose protagonist is a child killing gun rapist. Consider also that science fiction...

Here's an article that I read yesterday. Although the sources for it are all pretty old. It...
Glad to hear/read it. Every little bit of support for this franchise matters.
It does? What franchise? It is about as dead as it comes...
I would disagree. This tells me that...
I contributed to that statistic this past weekend. I never actually got around to watching it in the theaters, but I figure I'll spend $20 to watch it on my couch and get all the extras that come...
It also sounds like they not only got caught between trying to please the die-hard fans as well as the newcomers, they also got caught between making this the first movie in a series and giving it a...
It seems to be a common misconception with the reviewers who don't realize that this movie wasn't supposed to be all 8 books combined into one. That this was only supposed to be the start of a...
This review was really interesting. Even though one has read the books and one hasn't, they both mentioned the same problems with the movie. There were a lot of things in it that simply didn't make...
