Whether or not it came from the factory like that, or it happened over time in someone's collection, it's a defect.
I mean, aside from that it does seem to be Fine. But that spine really brings it down for me. I just can't find any without that spine defect. :/
Anybody think that the top spine area of this copy of It isn't "fine"? I just haven't seen enough to compare.

I would say 83 as well.
Wow, that looks really nice! I just put mine in a 3-ring binder.
No problem. :)
Hey Ari, do you mean the Viking paperbacks? DT 1-7 have the illustrations in them and are "oversized" paperbacks.

Sure, I'll try to have 'em up by tomorrow.
Yup, that's the one I'm talking about. I requested some photos of it, and it really is terrible. Regardless of its rarity, for the condition it's in, it would not even be worth it to buy. There's...

Personally, I think you're fine placing the books either way. Actually, putting them flat would be a much better defense against possible spine lean, page discoloration, etc. Though if you have a...
$300 and the buyer's soul, right?
The actual book? If you decide against it, I have a mint copy (except that the front board is a little loose) that I'd be willing to sell. :)
Ah, thanks guys. It looked like there was a ribbon in a previous photo that I saw of the case, but I couldn't tell what it was for.
Now that you mention it Patrick, I don't think I'd put that...
Hey Patrick, I was looking at your photos of your S/L of The Stand and noticed that the traycase is unlike the ones such as LSOE and SOD where the book can easily slide out of the left side. How does...
That cover is amazing.
