I loved it back then, I was still a kid. But then I made the big mistake of watching it again recently, before I even read the book. Now I'll have to forget it all again before I read it. Damn.

It. It's a masterpiece, and TWL is my least favorite book of the Tower.

The question is what's good about it. The story is weak, the acting is mediocre and Boyle directs it as if the audience is stupid or forgetful.

If Slumdog wins it's gonna be the weakest Best Picture winner since Chicago.

The Wire uses "Way Down in the Hole" by Tom Waits performed by a different artist each season, like The Blind Boys of Alabama, Steve Earle and Waits himself. That's a hard one to beat.
