Can’t wait for this it looks great!
Brian,
Looking at the picture it's hard to tell what type of material is used for the limited edition.. is it some special type of dyed grey leather covering the boards?
my apologies if its already mentioned elsewhere.
Also you had mentioned earlier that the binder for sleeping beauties closed its door (went out of business), so is it safe to say this was a different binder doing "Gwendy" here in the states.
Thanks
Gwendy's looks terrific, Brian!!! Can't wait for mine!
No worries, I don't think I've posted the specs anywhere yet!
The Limited Edition is bound in a really fun material. It's a blend of leather and some other materials to keep the feel of leather while "saturating" the material with a "thermoreactive finish." Basically, that means we were able to do use a "blind stamp" for the tree, which is a deeper hit of the stamper with no foil in place. The material reacts to the heat of the stamping die to "brand" the tree into the material. You can do this with several types of bindings, but the thermoreactive finish gives a very different look and texture than I've seen in the past. Also, if someone goes to pick-up the book and you don't want them to, you can say, "Woah there! That one's thermoreactive!!" ;)
(But the way, the binding will feel "normal" and there's no special care requirements. Just thought I'd better note that!)
The Lettered Edition is, obviously, a three-piece case. The spine is a black leather from Japan and the front and back covers are a black/gold blended material our binder found through one of his vaguely sinister sounding connections. You can't really see it in the photos, but it looks very cool in a natural light!
Here is a larger photo to show a little more detail:

Best,

Hey Brian, can I make a small request? I like the CD t-shirts that you have been offering them more, but could we possible have a color choice other than black? My t-shirt drawer is beginning to look like that of a teenage goth girl! :D
Had those on a later post:

Brian, will the signed copy of "This Dark Chest of Wonders" be numbered?
I hope that there will still be some copies left in a few days... desperately waiting for my wage...
Planning to do it from CD, although would be better for me if PS Publishing had copies, since i am accross the pond
