Very!
John
Very! And a lot of double postings. My reply to Biomieg's cat was posted twice, although I made sure I only hit the button once.
John
I thought it was just me & my computer!!
I thought it was just me & my computer!!
:cyclops::rolleyes:
I for one am absolutely terrified. Until now I was contemplating the merits of coming to claim your collection as my own. She has changed my mind for me.
Ok, the real thing which terrifies me is the thought of cats that close to the collection. *shudders* Cats (we have ten or eleven) are forbidden in my room. They have just recently pissed on several of my roommate's 1st edition King books. :(
If I didn't absolutely trust her I wouldn't let her anywhere near my books but she has never damaged anything in the years that she's been with us. And normally she doesn't climb in the bookcase either.... so I'm not worried about my books being exposed and vulnerable like that. That may change when we get kids, though.
I totally understand. I just can't imagine being able to do so myself. I don't trust most adults near my collection. She is adorable though.
Ahhh! I'm nervous just LOOKING at that cat near the collection picture! lol And also, are all your expensive paperbacks and/or F&SF mags unprotected? You've been doing it a lot longer than I, but I would definitely throw them in some kind of protective bag. They don't look too bad either when you put them in the bag and then tape the bag around the book tight. Not too much excess plastic.
Yeah, I still need to get around to that for a lot of my stuff, although I did apply protective covers to my Bachman paperbacks (left in the pic) and my Startling Mystery mags and some other pre-Carrie items just to her right are packed in little plastic bags (you can't really make that out in the pic, though).
:FU:
And I mean that in the nicest possible way!!!
Also, the games vs the Yankees mattered or you wouldn't be facing the Rangers!!
If we were gonna have to lose to someone I'm glad it was Detroit. Verlander deserves it and so does Leyland as well as a host of others on that team. Plus, the city can use the boost.
Good Luck!!!
You think the ALDS matters? Wow....I doubt Lou Gehrig would have agreed with that. Did you see all those empty seats? I think the NYC fans knew the score...
I'm rooting for Detroit or Milwaukee.
Milwaukee? Do they have running water now?
Well, if you didn't win it you wouldn't be playing Texas, the Yanks would. Lou Gehrig didn't have the Wildcard and Detroit never had a Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Derek Jeter or Mickey Mantle. They also don't have 27 WS titles or 41 or so pennants. So why don't you just focus on this opportunity?
I'd like to see Detroit win it all.
But don't you see? There is no opportunity. $160 million earned two wins in a series nobody watched and that didn't matter. The Yankees are no different than the Pittsburgh Pirates; they are not playing.
Detroit had Al Kaline, Kirk Gibson, Denny McLain, Harmon Killebrew, etc...unless you're digging up the grave of Gehrig or Ruth, this ancient history doesn't matter either.
In the last 10 years, you've won one title, the Red Sox have won two. Basically, the Yankees are the same as the White Sox, Giants, Angels, Marlins, Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Phillies. Yeah, in some far-off world of 1999 you guys won some repeat titles. But those days are over. Yankee Stadium is gone, and so is Paul O'Neill.
All I know my friend is that Jeter, Posada and Mo are sporting 5 rings. How many do Kaline, Gibson and McClain have between them? We also won three in a row to ring in the new century and added one in '09. You really gonna try and match trophies with the Yanks? In any era?
And you're comparing the Yanks with the Pirates? Are you on mood-altering drugs?
No, I'm not comparing the Pirates with the Yankees.
RESULTS are comparing the Pirates with the Yankees. The Pirates are not playing; the Yankees are not playing.
That's reality. Cry if you want, but that's the way it is.
I'll put it another way:

Well, I refuse to argue with a "Hater". Suffice to say that I'll take my team's "legacy", past present and future over any other MLB team. To the Yankees, the season doesn't start until October, and while they fell short this year I have enjoyed more than my share of victorious seasons and moments. No other club in baseball can claim the same. You keep arguing, and the Yanks will keep on adding to tradition. Live with it!!! BTW the Tigers are down to the Rangers last I looked.
:wtf:
Edit: Oh and BTW, you're a "Dick"!! Good Night, Sleep well!
If the Tigers lose, it means the Yankees didn't even lose to one of the top teams. I don't care about that either way.
I'm not arguing - arguments have two sides, and the Yankees 2011 flop is $160 million of one-sided failure (while the Red Sox clock in at a bargain of merely $130 million). What's also not an argument is the last seven years were the most successful by one city in the history of professional sports, and was hardly restricted to just one team.
Good DAY, sir!
Dick, dick and dick!!! Got it?
Oh, and you're still a "Dick". How's that taste? Dick-like? Just curious!!!
:FU:
Lets see Rahfa=Dick so, are you a suicide Dick? Or just a plain "Dick"? Cause "Dick" you are!!! Category is important, I don't think you are a "run of the mill" Dick. Personally, I think you are an exceptional "Dick". Your thoughts? As to "Dick-e-ness"? Fuck you and the Tigers and Red Sux you ass!!! I was being magnaminous until you showed up!!!!
:FU:
