Which SK promo item would you say it was one of the first ones to be produced?
The first one I remember seeing was the bumper sticker for Christine, but the Cujo Halloween mask was earlier. Depends on your definition, too -- would a movie poster for Carrie count?
I'd be talking about a book promo item actually. :)

How old is the Salem's Lot dirt thing? Was it done way after the release?
There were magnets done for Dead Zone. I worked at a bookstore then and opened the boxes and there was a
package of magnets with every box of 24 or however many came in the case. It was just a magnet of the book cover.
I think that was the first King book I remember having a stand alone promotion box for stores also.
