Welcome, Remus!
Hello!...blimey...I thought no-one had posted here for 10 yrs when I first looked. Don't forums usually have the latest posts first?...under the sticky? Still, I found it in the end.
Another long time fan of Mr King, from way back (70's), although only recently forayed into the Dark Tower and read all the books in about a month (actually I'm just waiting for Vol 7...can't wait!)
Favourite character?...mmm Roland....and Oy!
Favourite book? Hard to say yet. Possibly Wolves so far.
I'm 60
I live in Bristol, UK
To find you? I hunted you down on the world wide wagga
Nickname?... Trouble mostly.
Welcome to the site, Marieuk!
Welcome!
Welcome!!!
Nice to have you all here...
Hello, welcome all.
You know, just thinking out loud here, but there should be a new rule for this thread for posting "Welcome's for new comers. Here's what I propose.
A. You should have at least 10,000 posts......
B. You should have a "Scrolling Title" of some kind.
C. Use "LOL A LOT!!!! lol
D. Annoyed, El Jefe at least once.
E. Participated in the "Annual Grand Prize Giveaway" at least once over the years.
F. Miffed at least 3 regular members with a post and..................
G. You should have been banned and reinstated at least once (personal favorite) LOL
What do you guys think?
Spoiler: 07-09-2017 03:02 PMRandall FlaggThe requirements are too difficult.
10 years the site has been here, over 1,000,000 posts and you are the only member who was able to do it.
Kinda like the 4 minute mile. You are the first to eclipse that and the 3 minute mile is unreachable (for now).
To ask that of others would be unfair; particularly new members. 07-09-2017 03:08 PMMerlin1958I was only joking. After a second thought, maybe this would be better off in the "Random Thoughts" thread. Just looking for a smile was all I was attemting. I'd copy, delete and paste it over there, which I came back to do, but now it seems it would require your immeasurable talents, El Jefe. Sorry!!! 07-09-2017 04:08 PMRandall FlaggI like it here. Shows new members there is a sense of humor here, and that of course as a new person they can only hope to achieve your level of accomplishmentSpoiler: 07-09-2017 04:22 PMMerlin1958Quote:

07-10-2017 01:07 PMmaeYou definitely saw that in a porn once, Jon. 07-10-2017 01:55 PMSpyGuyQuote:Well, sounds like some pretty high standards to live up (or down) to, but whatthehell, I'll give 'er a shot. Been a while since I been kicked out of a group, but annoying El Jefe and the other members a time or two will be as easy as falling off a log. LOL
-hitches up my gun belts and spins each cylinder to make sure I'm all up and loaded for bear (no offense meant to the bear here, say sorry!), then drops each sixgun back into my holsters-
-flips out a piece and puts four rounds after the "1" on the "posts" line- Hmmm ... 10,000 posts ... that was easy. LOL :p
Hile, gunslingers, and may we be well met, say thankya. This here is SpyGuy from Tucson, AZ.
I recently finished all nine books of the Dark Tower series for the first time through, but had the original version of The Gunslinger almost since it was published. (Yes, nine. Both versions of The Gunslinger, DT 2-7, and 4.5.) For some dumb reason, I guess I just never went looking for the other books in the series until last year, when I saw everything sitting on a thrift store bookshelf. Needless to say, I went ahead and got them all, and spent much of the holidays reading more about Roland Deschain and his journey to the Dark Tower. On the subsequent reread, I started with the revised version. (Am I the only one who called Stephen King a sonofabitch at the end of the series? Had to laugh at myself for that one ...) In the weeks following, I started going through the rest of my SK collection, and began pulling out other works that were referenced by DT, as well as getting one or two of the other books (Bev's Road and his Companion book) to help me pick out a few more details along the way.
So, yes, another Tower junkie has joined the ranks. Long days and pleasant nights to y'all.
P.S. Oh yeah, I'm also on several Dark Tower groups on Facebook. 07-10-2017 02:42 PMladysai 07-11-2017 04:33 PMMerlin1958That's the spirit, spyguy!!!!:thumbsup: All in good fun!!!

Just so we are clear, my initial post was a sort of "inside joke" aimed at established members and not any new comers. Furthermore, it was just a joke and therefore should not impede ANY newcomers from posting. In fact, we all encourage it. Join in the discussions and get the most you can out of this site. Not only is it a great collecting resource, but it is a great community as well!!!! 07-13-2017 08:51 PMSpyGuy-puts another smoking bullet hole behind the number of my posts, pushing it up into the 100,000 range- 07-13-2017 08:54 PMMerlin1958
