Yes, the Nicolas Cage film is a remake. The original came out in 1974.
When typing the title in in the french amazon, I got a suggestion that the book wll be reprinted in english (as a paperback?) by Gallery Books on the 31st of october?

Unless I missed something those came out starting in 1999. 07-16-2017 01:14 PMBrian James Freeman 08-12-2017 04:47 PMmae 08-21-2017 09:43 AMBROWNINGS CHILDEJust bought this. Fun story and a quick read. Although, in full candor I much preferred the first half. The second half seemed off pace, or rushed. The build up was really intriguing and seemed like King's writing voice and then shifted at some point. I'm not sure how both authors collaborated, but it felt like a noticeable difference. I suppose that is the risk of writing a book with multiple authors. With all that said, I enjoyed the story and concept and was happy to have read it. It did make me want to find some silver dollars. 08-23-2017 10:02 PMTommyI agree with a lot of this. I liked the concept and the deceptively simplistic approach to telling the story. I'm actually intrigued enough to read another story about Gwendy. I can't decide if it felt too short or too long though. I feel it could have gone by way of short story very easily or it could have been fleshed out to novel length. The artwork and design CD did for it also helped a great deal. 10-28-2017 02:18 AMStockerloneStephen King - Richard Chizmar - Gwendys Wunschkasten

I like the cover:

Did't see a thread for that book so I'd dropping it here. For anyone concerned, King's involvement is much more than a simple approval. Seems King did a pretty thorough edit to the book. Along with Bev.
