One of the things I love about the UK IT proof is that the 5 drawings that are in IT are done by hand in pencil. Is that the same in your copy Jon? I love that that was someone's job for the day at the office in 1986.

Kris, you were right about the DJ, here's the reply I got from the seller:

You may recall in my description of the proof that I said I was given it pre-publication by the UK publishers, Hodder. When my bookshop received its copies for sale, as well as the advertising posters etc, I also had some spare dustjackets sent - they make a good backdrop for a window display. You can work out the rest - I simply kept one for the proof.

Thanks Vincent. I have checked my copy, mine has no drawings and is blank where it says ‘art here’.

Curiouser and curiouser! Looks like the bookshopowner that sold me the proof did quite some DIY on it, making a DJ and drawing in the artwork.
