I think my biggest worry right now is the rate/amount people are nominating as opposed to seconding.
I get it, by nominating a film and posting the scene, plus maybe giving a brief synopsis on why we love the scene, we sort of have this weird feeling of dominion over the scene. Like it's "our" scene. I hope that makes sense. While I totally get it, like Matt said, seconding a scene is just as good as if we nominated it.
All you have to do is look at the amount of scenes that have been nominated compared to the scenes that have been seconded. There have been literally 5 of the latter. Basically, I'm just saying not to forget to second scenes.
Lastly, at some point we might have to be allowed to repost our nominations that haven't been seconded. Nobody is going to go back and look at the list unfortunately.

I think it might help if the list of nominated films (and seconded films) had a link back to the nominating post or better yet, a link to the video. I intend to only review the posts on the first page to decide if I will second or third a film, i'm not sure I will bother searching for the link or post otherwise. (why bother 2nding a clip if you're not sure it is a valid nomination
Honestly, I think a lot of seconds got lost. I know that I had already thirded "Wanna Know How I Got These Scars?", yet neither the 2nd or 3rd appears in the posts for 2nd's or in the summary of invalid posts.
I do agree with what you say about the lack of seconds. But there is another reason. If you second a clip, then you have to wait until you can nominate, so I think if it comes down to do you want to sacrifice your opportunity to nominate in order to second some one else's? People will choose the nomination for the reasons you give.

Nomination #3
Scene: Hobbling Scene
Film: Misery
Director: Rob Reiner
Year: 1990
What was once before you - an exciting, mysterious future - is now behind you.
Lived; understood; disappointing.
You realize you are not special.
You have struggled into existence, and are now slipping silently out of it.
This is everyone's experience.
Every single one.
The specifics hardly matter.
Everyone's everyone.
So you are Adele, Hazel, Claire, Olive.
You are Ellen.
All her meager sadnesses are yours; all her loneliness;
the gray, straw-like hair; her red raw hands.
It's yours.
It is time for you to understand this.
Walk.
As the people who adore you stop adoring you;
as they die; as they move on;
as you shed them; as you shed your beauty; your youth;
as the world forgets you;
as you recognize your transience;
as you begin to lose your characteristics one by one;
as you learn there is no-one watching you, and there never was,
you think only about driving - not coming from any place; not arriving any place.
Just driving, counting off time.
Now you are here,
at 7:43.
Now you are here,
at 7:44.
Now you are...
Gone.
It was hard to pick between this and the funeral monologue....

This is a little long. There was a shorter clip, but I think it missed a lot of the good set up to the fight (how bond out witted Red Grant). If you want you can skip to the 2:44 mark to get to the good parts.
Tell me we are not having to third a scene? seriously...

You're good Becca. All you have to do is wait 5 nomination/second posts and then you can either nominate a new scene or second one.

So scenes still need a 3rd?

Yes they do. thumbsdownsmall
Also, all the previous movie scenes that were seconded from the last thread, were declared null and void. They will need to be seconded again. :wtf:

T-Dogz Second of USS Indianapolis from Jaws
Webstar second of Freedom Speech from Braveheart
Shai Sheb Second of Scars Story from The Dark Knight
Webstar nomination of What's In The Box from Se7en
Becca second of Se7en not actually nominated
Frik second of Opening Barracks Scene from Full Metal Jacket (due to confusing, not enough posts in between)
Sai Sheb nomination of Opera Scene from The Godfather Part III
Becca second of Birthday Dinner from East of Eden
Tommy second of Cropduster from North by Northwest
T-Dogz second of "You Shall Not Pass!" from Lord of the Rings
Frik second of The Battle of Hoth from Empire Strikes Back
Frik second of The Shower Scene from Psycho
T-Dogz second of Enter Hannibal Lector from Silence of the Lambs
I also note that particpants can no longer watch the videos for the above scenes. They will therefore be most likely forgotten about....

You can, but you might want to nominate your "What's in the Box" movie scene from Seven first? You cannot do both without waiting for 5 other seconds / nominations in between.
