Hi Bud. If you hand over that $500 I can turn that into $10K. Interested? To up the ante a bit I will let you know I also have a Nigerian Prince on board with my start-up. I just need the $500 to send to him and he will then bank roll me.

Jeff, sounds like it wasn't my group, which is a secret King group. People can only be invited to join by an existing member of the group who is FB friends with you. So PM me your Facebook profile details and I'll be happy to add you as afriend and then to the group.
Just FYI for anyone interested, I'm happy to add you as afriend on FB and add you to the group if you'd like. It's a fan group, not a collectors group however. Lots of King memes, talk about latest releases, movie adaptations etc. 74000plus members, at least 50,000 active based on data we have.
My FB profile is James McKenzie and my photo is a Simpsons character that is supposed to look like me.
Send me an friend request and pm me here if you want.
I hate it when I am being sent an ARC and it's being lost by the post office, who pretends that it had been delivered... but it hasnt :-(
Did they find the animals, at least?
That's a great achievement. Congrats. Yea, debt free is a good thing.
Did anyone else get the PS Publishing deal for £25? My package just got here and not only were there six S/Ls and an ARC, but one of the S/Ls is a Richard Matheson book.

Edit: Richard Christian Matheson book. I just learned he’s the son of the Matheson I was thinking of. Still a cool book and still a good deal but...shit.

I am very annoyed by this. A woman who lived in the 1860s to 1950s who spent her last 3 years living in a de-segregated America is expected to uphold values of an America that has been de-segregated for 60+ years. Instead of using it as a teaching point to look at how the times were then, what we have learned, and how we have changed, let's just remove all references to slavery and anyone who lived during those times and had thoughts that were equal to the values of America AT THAT TIME so we don't have to look at it or think about it.
EDIT: some days I really hate that I am young because everyone just shoehorns us into a category of what has become pusillanimous America.
Okay end rant.
I understand what you're saying. We should accept the historical context.
Yet if we accept the historical context of the present day, we must accept that torture, child abuse, racism, militarism, sexism, misogyny, fascism, denial of science, vulture capitalism, etc. are part and parcel of the current US experience.
I accept that historically the United States was a moral and ethical failure. I accept that is remains so. I will not condone the fact either historically or presently.
Growing weary of hospitals and surgery.
In emergency waiting for hernia surgery. At least morphine feels good.
