Best Horror - Round 2 - Group 8
-
Tough group to vote on. These are all movies I like for many different reasons. There are only two that truly frightened me and only one that makes me check the sky.
-
Tough bracket again. The Shining and Nosferatu should probably move on, with The Bird as the honorable mention.
-
Frankenstein - no longer frightening, but an absolute classic.
sk
-
The Shining, of course :)
-
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
-
-
-
The Shining, it's my top horror film of all time. Truely a very frightening film.

And it's running away with it (with half the votes at this point). Hopefully some more votes for The Birds or Nosferatu.

Was between The Shining and Chainsaw. Went with Shining, though now I wish I had given my vote to Chainsaw as Shining is running away with it.

yes, you definitely should have. I hope it will advance anyway.
-
Well, I just noticed that my vote for Shining didnt take, so I have voted for Chainsaw. It was fate.
-
I really hope TTCM will advance. I totally loved it.

Not sure what you see in Texas Chainsaw, Jean. Especially against some pretty great classics in this bracket. I don't think it makes my top list of 1974, much less all-time.
-
I loved the purity of the genre. I got exactly what I bargained for, and it was filmed precisely the way it should be. I don't even like slashers, but that one kept me entertained the whole time, and that's all I require from a horror movie.
-
Jean, you continue to surprise me. I never would have thought that you'd be a fan of TTCM.
-
it was fun to watch, throughout. Bears don't ask for anything more when they watch a horror film.
-
Shouldn't the film in question also be a good film? Plenty of movies are fun. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is very fun, but it would make my list of top comedies, for instance.
-
Ace Ventura wasn't fun to watch. It was boring and annoying like hell. Nothing can be fun unless it is good.
-
The Mask was the best of Carrey's early career.
-
Surprised still to see Chainsaw moving on.
-
Fun? You are one twisted Bears. LOL. The first time I saw this movie I was around 13 years old (or so) and 20 + years later it still scares (I only slightly cringe now) the crap out of me. It had such an impact that I still remember the when and where I watched it. There are not many movies that I can say that about.

but that is fun, when we talk about a horror movie. For a melodrama, for example, "I was all in tears" would be the definition of "fun".
... and I am not "one", I am a spokesbear for bears as a species, and we are sure all twisted! http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...bear_laugh.gif

I must be twisted too because I find horror films to be the most entertaining ones
