In this thread we'll be keeping track on everything that's happening with our miscellaneous "appended" awards. I'll be throwing together simple tables with all the finalists.

As always, thanks for your dedication to this Pablo. :)

Thanks guys. I have fun doing this! And what'll be really fun is when we have all our finalists in all fifteen categories (well, sixteen, counting the Best Book award), we can then see which book got the most nominations. There could even be a table of all the nominations, from most to least. :)

Updated the tables with all the data from the closed polls. Still awaiting Aaron's word on two ties:
Best Minor Antagonist: Lloyd Henreid and Greta Shaw are tied at 2.
Saddest Moment: Black House and Pet Sematary are tied at 4.
After that we still have the semifinals for the remaining categories (Best Novella/Novelette, Best King on the Screen, Worst King on the Screen, Best Trade Edition Cover Art, Best Illustrations in a Published Work, Best Minor Character), unless there are no semifinals, and we're just going into the finals on those.

Pablo, question about the best death catagory.

I saw that, too, Sam - and you'll notice there are 11 entries. My guess is . . . OOPS!!

I hadn't noticed it was eleven entries Gretchen. I thought it was ten. Guess I can't count today. :cyclops:

Here's an interesting question. Since I'd like to have a list of how many nominations each book received, for the sake of statistics, would it be possible to decide which one book to nominate in those several cases where a character is from more than one book?
In the Best Protagonist category we have Johnny Marinville, Roland Deschain, and Jack Sawyer. In the Best Antagonist category we have Tak and Randall Flagg. In the Best Supporting Character category we have Jake Chambers, Ted Brautigan, and Oy. In the Best Couple category we have Eddie and Susannah Dean.
Would it be fair to use the book these characters first appeared in, in the case with the DT folks? As far as Johnny Marinville, Jack Sawyer, Tak, and Randall Flagg I'm not sure. But I'd prefer there would be a single book for each nominee.

It's an interesting question, especially with respect to Johnny M as I think the Johnny M in Desperation and the Johnny M in The Regulators are quite different, obviously more so than Roland, Ted, Jake, or even Jack (although he's an adult in Black House, he's the adult version of the boy in The Talisman). The two Johnny's are not the same to me. Put it this way, I'd only vote for one of them, not the other.

pablo, there are no words in human or ursine language to express the admiration of the job you did!!!
I'm glad bears have enjoyed the process and approve of it. And Jean, I must also thank you for the great tough work you did on all the categories that made it putting those polls up a cakewalk. Thank you.
