I'm only an amateur collector, but I could see this coming from an old signing that someone just took their bookshelf copy of It along with them. If it was going to be a fake, wouldn't you try to find a better copy to put it in? Might we see more of these as kids clear our their parents collections at estate closes and find them? Copies that brought pleasure to their owner, but probably weren't ever intended for the collector market? I'm sure these are all questions/comments that have been talked about ad nauseum.
