I'm not sure if it is as prevalent as it was in the past, but at least a couple of years ago there were a lot of illegal ebooks being sold on eBay.
Still seem to be a few King ones ... here's one collection
I used to report these, but eBay seems to be as worried about them as much as it is about bad sigs.
I am in no way trying to attack EBay over this, in fact (and I've said this before) EBay is just a digital vehicle used to move products between a seller and a buyer. It's impossible to have an expert on staff to look at every signature, purse, and shirt to know if items are legit, forged, copied, knock offs, etc.
My question is does this seller have the right to sell this E-Book? We here at DT pretty much know the answer to that question.
CD can contact EBay under their VERO program (I think that's the name of it) and have the auction removed.

I think that one is good.
I think it good as well.
Seller wrote a lazy auction.
IF it's a signature someone feels comfortable with, and after confirming its a true 1st/1st, $400 is a bit expensive. If I thought it was great, it would have already sold.
What are the chances that the same personalization on two different books from two different sellers at the same time are both legit, and one is listed by resellers?

And there is another. I think DS and Pet Sematary are good but don't trust resellers.

Someone sold a collection, and rwsellers bought one, another seller bought one as well.
I know this is titled Ebay but I have a question on ABE sellers. I've bought several S/L's from there but never anything flatsigned. I'm pretty good at spotting fake sigs from the real thing but some can be awfully close. I'm looking for a couple of flatsigned books to add to the collection and was wondering how to tell an honest ABE seller from a dishonest one? There aren't really any feedbacks on there other than a "star" rating.
And yes, I check Bett's and Gerald's regularly. I just missed that damned flatsigned Misery David had listed!
I figured as much. Thanks Brian.
Side note: I'm pretty sure that I read on here somewhere that Pat Cramer is a reputable seller. Since you're the wizard at finding these old posts.....or maybe you know the answer to this yourself? He/she(it's Pat!) has a flatsigned one that I'm interested in but have never dealt with him/her.
Hahaha! I didn't even notice that. Good catch :smile_002:
Finally got these up. Sorry it took so long.
