Well, believe it or not, but Ned generally gets $500 for a full color remarque in "The Wastelands". So David is spot on. To get the case and the art (albeit roughly 5"x7") is a pretty darn good deal for three hundred and change. Now this market value I know something about!!! LOL LOL LOL
"Friend" price for a b/w single page remarque is $200.
Sorry to pile more on Bill.....
Most of the 21 remarqued Waste Lands I sold for Ned Dameron averaged around $750....some as high as $1000....none lower than $500 (and only two sold for less than $550).
The three "simple" remarques (gun/rose/skull) I sold for ND all went around $300.
In my opinion, David's statement is on the low side based on previous sales King-related sales.
Sounds to me like everyone is correct. Dave said the art alone is worth $500 (apparently even more).
tippy has confirmed that Dameron art is not cheap.
Perhaps the only quibbles are Dameron's art IN a DTII, versus Dameron's art in a 'Salem's Lot Case.
I believe that a Dameron 1/1 painted piece ~5"x7" is more valuable than people realize. It is "oil/acrylic and full color. I would guess that a Dameron commssioned 5"x7" original painting would cost>$500 from Dameron himself and take "forever" to obtain. Same for a DTIII "drawing" in the book.
Grab one while you can, the price is not going down.
