Best Horror - Round 3 Group 2
-
grrrrRRRrrr... either The Exorcist or The Sixth Sense... grrrrRRRrrr... can't decide
-
It's between Sixth Sense and Evil Dead 2 for me...
bbbhahhhhalsdkfj;lkasjdflk...
-
And for me, I'm torn between Poltergeist and Evil Dead 2...
-
Oh wtf, how did I not notice The Exorcist in this group!!?!?
-
Evil Dead 2 is still around? Thought this was horror movies not comedies lol
I'll see whether The Exorcist or The Sixth Sense needs my help more.

And your decision just got harder
-
I love Evil Dead 2, but it's too funny for me to vote for it...
It's a wonderful day for an exorcism.

Yep. I just rewatched The Exorcist for the first time in years and while I don't consider it be close to the scariest films of all time, it is very well crafted. From what I know of what was in the director's cut that wasn't in the original, it is no wonder why I wasn't particularily wowed when I watched it as a kid.
I love Poltergeist because it's endearingly cheesy but I remember it scaring me when I was a kid...I think it had something to do with going right to bed in a little bunky in the woods lol.

As much as I loved Evil Dead II, my vote goes to The Sixth Sense.

Not a horror movie :)

This is a close race still....
Let's get those votes in!
-
I still can't decide who to vote for. I don't think my choices will make it on.
-
Went with the one with ugly, dirty Donnie Wahlberg in his underwear.
-
Exorcist, though Poltergeist was a close runner up.
-
Well the two that I would really rather move on have no chance :( So I voted for The Exorcist. I'm really surprised The Sixth Sense is doing so well. I thought The Exorcist was going to run away with it.
-
Wow, the Sixth Sense came roaring back! Only one vote behind!
-
bears will wait till the last day... and then they'll pounce!
(or rather, and then their server will be down at the decisive moment)
-
-
bears have voted The Sixth Sense, since looks like The Exorcist is advancing anyway. Or there may be a tie; bears love tiebreakers.

Me too - Sixth Sense is pretty poor on subsequent viewings.. Definitely The Exorcist for me. While I liked Evil Dead II, it doesn't really come across as a typical horror movie. Evil Dead remake seemed a bit more serious if I recall correctly (had a few beers that night in the cinema)..

I thought it was pretty poor on the first viewing  I was beginning to think I was alone.
-
I loved The Sixth Sense on the first, second, and all the subsequent viewings. Love everything about it.
I love The Exorcist too, but the film is not 5% as good as the book.

Wow, I did not even realize The Exorcist was a book.. That's my stupid thing of the day out of the way.. I'll add it to my reading list after The Stand (just finished Pet Semetary).
-
This contest would have lost all integrity if Sixth Sense beat Exorcist. Things are as they should be.

WHAT???!!!!
: faints :
do it now! and The Legion, of course, right after The Exorcist - it is even better.
-
Um...
I didn't know that either.
:(
-
-
Fuck. It's on position 24 of our Top 100 Novels.
Yes, you don't have to tell me, I know that nobody fucking cared.
Fuck my life.
-
Jean, if I were to tell you how many of those novels I haven't read yet, you'd legit never talk to me again
...
-
You didn't have to read the novels. You and all the alleged thousands of members here could at least have looked through the list, or the discussion.
I give up.

Roger that! It looks a short read compared to the tomes I've been going through recently, so will try read it soon..
-
Is Legion better than The Exorcist Jean?
-
-
No.. and yes. It's like Alice in the Wonderland vs. Alice Through the Looking Glass. The former is new, fresh, classic, strong, perfect. The latter is more personal, less spontaneous, more intricate, more lyrical. I think The Exorcist is better, but I love Legion more. Same with Alice.

Jean, I am making my way through our top 100 now. Enjoyed the creation of the list, and am now enjoying the books from it that I have not yet read. Thank you for organizing the project. Currently reading Watership Down as a matter of fact.

Okay, I just Googled Watership Down because I had no idea that that's what it's about. What I had in my mind was the total opposite of a kid's book about bunnies.
