Currently reading Drama: An Actor's Education by John Lithgow. Pretty light reading, but quite charming. Lithgow writes well, with a natural aptitude for storytelling.

Not exactly Hemingway, but what can I say? I like the show!
What's next? Hurm...
Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey and Storm Front by Jim Butcher.
Bethany has been reading more books than Ricky has. What has the world come to?!
I started Let the Right One In today. I'm not sure if I'll keep reading it though, there's a lot of violence and perverts.
Quote:Thanks for the kind comments and encouragement, Brownings Childe, John, Jean, Bethany, Heather, and Bill. I'm not even half way through, but this book is fantastic!
That was a great book, Bethany. 02-23-2012 01:04 PMRicky 02-23-2012 04:17 PMKa-maiIt's getting a little better... I'm having problems with the names. Question: When a book is translated into another language, why don't they change the names? I like the idea of keeping them but it is just so confusing and I'm not sure on pronunciation, which bothers me. I just figure if you are going to change every other word in the book you might as well come up with a similar name that would be easier to keep track of. And what kind of jerk author puts both a Thomas and Tommy in as major characters?! :arg: 02-23-2012 04:19 PMDoctorDodgeYeah! Should've been "proper Tommy" and "other Tommy" instead, a lot less confusing!
EDIT: you know what the real joke is? My dad's name is Tom and my brother's Tommy, so it does happen. Especially with Thomases! 02-23-2012 04:33 PMSigTauGimpFinished up all the Dresden Files that are out, and am now slowly working my way through The Interpretation Of Murder, by Jed Rubenfeld. 02-23-2012 04:34 PMRicky 02-23-2012 06:21 PMKa-maiWhen that happens I just think "Stramumblemumble" in my head, a la Eddie Izzard. :P 02-23-2012 06:51 PMLurkerI was going to start Simmon's Drood but wasn't sure if I needed to actually know anything about Drood. So, reading the Mystery of Edwin Drood. 02-23-2012 07:01 PMThorin OakenshieldCurrently Wolves of the Calla. Will also start The Hunger Games soon. 02-23-2012 07:15 PMBethanyMy stepdad is Tommy and my ex-husband was a Tommy (I saw was because he is now known as Thomas and it just gripes my ass but that's just me) so my little sisters started the habit of calling the ex by his first and last name. Twenty five years later, my extended family still calls him that.
Umm, I'm starting whatever the second Dresden book is, to get this back on track.
