I think that $500 price point was for the signed limited and the $180 price point was for the gift edition. I could be wrong though, it's all kind of blurred together. I'm pretty positive though that we didn't sell gift editions remarqued only by Glen for $500. Again though it's kinda all blurring together at this point. There have been a couple of different deals with Glenn lately. Pricing is always based on:
A) how many copies are available
B) what Glenn plans on doing (B&W or color, etc)
C) what Glenn would like paid for his time and effort
With that information, we price accordingly and then the collector can decide if the price is acceptable or not. For some collectors, the price is right and for others it is not. That's totally their call. We want the collectors who take advantage of those deals to be really happy with what they get. Trust me, we (and Glenn) are bummed if someone isn't happy, which is why we let them return or exchange the book whenever possible. I have to say, though, it's pretty rare we hear from someone who doesn't love with Glenn did... You usually know what you're getting with his work.
Hope this info helps!

Brian, it's not that I don't like what Glenn does, but when the price of a remarque offer more than triples from one to the next, it just seems .... well, it seems like price-gouging, especially after the first offer proved to be so popular. For the life of me I can't remember what the offer was this time, it was only 1-2 months ago and I think the price was $589. I know I paid $179 for the FDNS S/L remarque, and this was after that. Whatever it was, I liked what Glenn was offering, but the price was just too steep (for me). But, like you said, it's totally the collector's call on whether to purchase or not, and you can't blame Glenn for trying to make a few bucks.
Out of curiousity, what was the total number of FDNS remarques that CD commissioned? I think the advertisement either had a set number or set timeframe for ordering, I don't recall. (I don't recall a lot of things ... blame it on too much San Miguel and Red Horse in my younger days!)
Sorry, all off-topic!
