:panic:
Um... okay, let's hope that King can write a better villain.
Oh... I feel a tiny spoiler here guys... I am not onto the book yet! I have it but am waiting till I finish the current book I am ready (DT#7...).... I do hope that the community here thinks this is GREAT news though cause that will mean the book is awesome! And I was very unhappy with his last (DS). SO... he needs to do a limited cause my matching OCD numbers need a good fixin...
(Hoping that's a very working title - but King said that about Mr. Mercedes...)
I wonder if the books will all be detective books or if he will mix genre.
I've been hoping for a sequel since I read the ARC.
John
Sounds awesome, I am saving Mr. Mercedes for my plane trip on Friday.
I think both Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers are good titles.
Any ideas about how to interprete the "Finders Keepers" title?
Seems he's been a little inspired by JK Rowling's move into the thriller market? Hard Case Crime could do a nice boxset of all three..
Speaking of Hard Case, I'm wondering why King chose Joyland for the imprint as opposed to this. Unless it has to do with length issues given that Colorado Kid and Joyland were both pretty thin.
I'll read them and probably enjoy them, but there are a dozen or more very good serial detective series out there. I would have preferred something different from King. On the upside, a few detective novels can't be any worse than his grim feminist phase.
Tbh despite his later tweet this was a bit of a spoiler:
Spoiler: 06-13-2014 06:48 AMBev VincentIn his new letter, King says FK will probably be published in the first half of 2015. 06-13-2014 07:54 AMmaeAnd apparently Ms. Mod thinks the third volume could be out in 2016. 06-13-2014 10:19 AMherbertwestWhich would make sense 06-14-2014 11:39 AMRandall FlaggThis does not bode well for a S/L of any of the three books. I can't think of any King book series that had some; but not all being a S/L 06-14-2014 04:46 PMmtdman 06-15-2014 07:22 AMBrainslingerInteresting news that it's the start of a trilogy. I haven't read the first yet, although I downloaded it on the kindle* last week.
I'll admit I'm more into supernatural horror than detective stories, but I haven't read a whole lot of the latter (although I have sometimes found detective plots in the few things i've seen intriguing.) so I suspect that's my loss.
*Unusual for me. I tend to go the traditional route with King books. I don't have much space for books any more unfortunately. Book case in my room is full so books end up lying on any available surface or the floor. If a new DT novel comes out I'll likely get the hardback though. 11-06-2014 06:53 AMmaeRelease date is June 2, 2015.
