Dr. Hugh Pritchard removes the growth in Thad Beaumont's brain. The "tumor" contains an eye, part of a nostril, three fingernails and two teeth (one with a cavity). Shortly after the operation is completed at just past 2pm, an extremely large flock of sparrows attacks the Bergenfield County Hospital's west side, where Thad was recuperating in the ICS.
