Hello everybody…
I have been visiting TDT.com for some time before I decided to join. Now it’s time to show my collection, although it’s not so impressive as other users. It’s not easy to collect such stuff from Europe – the shipping costs are overwhelming. I have some US 1st edition, some gift editions but I’m sure you’ve seen it all… I have almost all polish editions (different publishers, printings, covers) and some other items...

Few weeks ago I started a blog for fans in Poland, where I’m showing all from my collection item by item. It’s main goal is to show how wonderful this stuff is. I want to show what can be collected – because everything can be a part of a collection and many people throws things out (bookmarks, magazines etc.).

Because you a already familiar with US and British stuff, I want to show you our polish books, fan-stuff, rarities. I hope you’ll enjoy it. I will show you some things that are not on the blog yet but if you want to see the page to see photos (the text is in polish), please visit http://martwastrefa.blogspot.com.

One another thing... If anyone is interested in polish SK books... let me know. Don't hesitate.

First of all... not the whole collection but most of the polish books

The title of the first book is just ROLAND? Or I'm in wrong...

yep... I thing our publisher thought that "The gunslinger" would make readers think that it's a western...
As you can see higher (the one with "Wilki z Calla") they used the cover from "The Stand" on previous edition... When my friends from StephenKing.pl told them that it's the cover for different book they were very surprised and said there's no point in changing it because the other book wasn't published in Poland with that cover...

We've got many examples like that... with bad translation on the top

This is the first-ever Stephen King in Poland - "Kwazar" #29 1986 with two stories: "Children of the Corn" and "The Boogeyman". There were only 100 printed and I have two of them. I know that two more are in other collections in Poland.

The second King in Poland. "Literatura" Nov-Dec 1987 with "Nona":

Third King in Poland. "Fantastyka" January 1988 with "The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet" and three articles about Stephen King (the story was edited and printed as an insert thac was supossed to be cut of the magazine and bind together with a special cover from the last page. This would give the reader a separete sort-of-chapbook with unique cover):

the difference betwen "Jasność" and "Lśnienie" is like between "Bright/Brightness" and "Shine/Shining"

some new things in my collection.
Last week there was a Polish convent called "Polcon 2012". This year we were visited by Edward Lee and Peter V. Brett:

"The Painted Man" - Polish edition - as far as i know thos is the only edition in the world with illustrations (acording to Brett himself)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rBKAACevpeU/UEHrum4fgNI/AAAAAAAAGcI/l5lHEoxDv5s/s640/Malowany_Czlowiek_%2528P.V.Brett%2529.JPGhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ERieAw1NyfA/UEHrvH1qayI/AAAAAAAAGcQ/BvNueKZAMFg/s640/Malowany_Czlowiek_%2528P.V.Brett%2529_signature.JP Ghttps://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yce9vPbX4iU/UEHrvrCZ-hI/AAAAAAAAGcg/KmtYOTeigus/s640/Malowany_Czlowiek_%2528P.V.Brett%2529_%25283%2529. JPG

Edward Lee "Succubi". First Polish edition - as you can see, the publisher made a mistake and forgot to put authors name on the cover. It was fixed in second printing:
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ISv409fHMZY/UEHrsmxw4GI/AAAAAAAAGbY/iqh1kwOhyAE/s642/Sukkub_%2528E.Lee%2529.JPGhttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-RXLNZdueGpQ/UEHrt3wpToI/AAAAAAAAGbw/0wRBIsfflB4/s642/Sukkub_%2528E.Lee%2529_signature.JPG

And here is another doodle made by Darek Kocurek on polish edition of "Eyes of the dragon" with his cover:

"The Devils Wine" - I think most of you have a copy of this one - but it is almost unknown in Poland ;).
People were very surprised about it.

few days ago I posted a new cover artwork for Polish edition of "The Gunslinger" The artwork is by Vincent Chong and we were told all other volumes will have his artwork as well... all should be a matching series.
Publisher (Albatros (http://www.wydawnictwoalbatros.com/)) schedule says there will be one volume each month (starting on the 3rd of June) and last 2 volumes on December.
"The Gunslinger" wil include "Little Sisters of Eluria" story.
There were some unconfirmed rumors that this edition will be hardcover
http://kingowiec.pl/data/files/image/p/vjqnkp.jpeg

For all interested here is a history of polish editions:

1st edition with various artist covers (2002-2005):

http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Xojug3DH8dQ/VUiW8DbsguI/AAAAAAAAIXw/yI9FlAe7xWE/w588-h893-no/TDT_%281st%29_various.JPG

2nd edition with Darek Kocurek artworks (2008):

http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SaoKoV165ro/VUiW8AuWDAI/AAAAAAAAIX0/oP01AhzYzJU/w1129-h893-no/TDT_%282nd%29_DarekKocurek.JPG

3rd edition with Jacek Kopalski artwork.
Jack Kopalski has made a lot of covers for King books for polish and foreign publishers. He is known for his Tolkien related works. You can view his artworks at his site (http://www.jacekkopalski.com/else.html)
This edition was available in two 4-volume boxsets: boxset1 (Nov 2011) (http://www.wydawnictwoalbatros.com/ksiazka,1267,1824,mroczna-wieza-i-iv-box.html)and boxset2 (Nov 2012) (http://www.wydawnictwoalbatros.com/ksiazka,1327,2045,mroczna-wieza-v-viii-box.html). In 2013 they were available separately.

and there is a hardcover book club edition (2003-2007):
