No, they are very, very afraid of clowns.

I recently bought a new camera (I have personally been cameraless for about a year now because someone broke mine) and I did it in time to enter my offices competition...well the architecture firm was looking for pics that we took of the different cities we have offices in. I live in Seattle, so I put my camera to good use before the photos were due!

If you have a flickr, go ahead and add me to your contacts!

That's a great book cover right there.

The background is as terrifically unnerving as the clown, Pennywise, himself.

I've done that a few times! And mine aren't perfect, sometimes I post them just because of the time that went in even if it isn't what I imagined it to be.

There are some really great manipulation artists, I should find some and bring it back here.

Thanks to everyone! I want to do a king/tower realted couple in a bit.

And a manipulation takes anywhere from 1-3 hours for me to make. Depending on if I need to shoot some photos or how many images I am piecing together. Usually the self portraits are about an hour.

heather your photo is great! I love it! it feels so hazy and dreamy.

- about lord malshun....I like it as itself but I definitely think it came out a lot more cartoony than in my mind. I wish I could have created that! I could try drawing it but I still don't think it would work. I used an actual egg for his head instead of a face that was shaped as an egg, that's probably where the cartoon effects started taking place.

PS you guys, I am an admin on a flickr group called Inspired by King now, and if any of you would like to join flickr and contribute them to the group, that would rock! the creator contacted me since I post there somewhat frequently and asked if I'd like to try to help make the group more lively. Seriously, if you guys join that would be so great! The link is here:

I like your collage-style Tarot cards and Blaine scene especially, Gero. Flying manta rays are not something I like to think about.

And now I ask you photo-manipulators for a tip with doing textures...I am not so good with that. What I wanted to do is a sign for the Traveler's Rest. I did the vector part to my liking (sort of), but I want a realistic wood feel to the sign and I'm not sure what to do? I've tried what I know, which is just finding a photo of wood grain and then blending the solid fill with the photo. Not really working, especially since the edges of the sign still look flat. Maybe there's a good tutorial out there?

theyspunaweb

yes you can definitely find tutorials on that! It is a very tough thing to create your own. I would also try the burn tool to help create depth in photoshop.

I use GIMP, which is basically a free version of Photoshop. It does 90% or better of it's expensive counterparts actions. I started using it because it was free (and I wasn't very good lol) but now I've grown so accustomed to it that I could never change over to Photoshop.

You can download it here http://www.gimp.org/

Once you get the hang of it, it's so much fun! There are many ways to expand the basic capabilities of GIMP, (as far as what comes standard in the download) and btw, any Photoshop brush can be downloaded into GIMP. I definitely recommend you give it a try. If you need help, just PM me and I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Good luck, let me know what you think of it.

Thanks again!
