Hello Friends and Constant Readers

I have been given special permission to have this thread (from the powers that be) for the duration of this fund raiser.

Let's get this show on the road:

Every year, I walk in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk through my local hospital.

Every year I ask you peeps for donations.

This year I thought I would try to do it a little differently.

I asked all Dark Tower artists for an art donation that I could auction off for the fund raiser.

Please, keep an eye on this thread for additions (I only have one right now 8-26-09).

Auction rules:
I will post a pic of what is up for auction and a starting bid.
All bids shall be posted in this thread.
Please, state which piece of art you are bidding on and how much.
I will take bids until September 30. At which time, all bidding shall end.

After September 30, we shall all know who the high bidders are!!
I will make a list of all winners and the amount of their bid.
All winners will need to make payment to my breast cancer page (if they have a credit card available, if not, a check or money order will need to The American Cancer Society and mailed directly to me). I will post this link into the post with all the winners names, or you can just click on the link in the bottom of my signature.

If you would like to just make a donation, please, feel free to click on the link and do so.

Thanks for checking this out! Come back often to see new art (when I get more!)

Karen

Fantastic idea! I'm looking forward to seeing what items come up for bid. And you are a fantastic person for coming up with this idea and doing all the work.

I figured just asking for money was getting boring! LOL Needed to spice it up a little bit!

Got a yes answer from Rick and Phil so far. Rick is in the middle of a show and Phil is away, so it may be a week or two before I get those here and up!

Wow, great idea Karen! For a great cause too.

Can you say how many pieces you will be auctioning off? One per each DT artist?

Nerak

I am hoping to get one from each. One from everyone that will send one! LOL

Ok, here's the one that it seems like everyone was waiting for.

It's not DT, but it's still from Phil Hale, He said it's a study for the King pieces (for the Playboy article). It's transparent paint (whatever that means). Just heard from Phil, it is 14" square and oil paint.

Phil was selling these for $750 (I had the thread up, if you remember).

Bidding will start at $300.

All auctions will end at noon on Friday, as the walk is this coming Sunday and I will need all monies in before then.

Thanks for bidding!

Nerak

Phil Hale painting posted! Does NO ONE want to bid on it? Tomas? I guess I will have to PM people about it...

Patrick
10-13-2009, 06:51 PM
It's nice, but with all my recent King and Hill purchases and preorders, it's out of my range.

Also I would have to keep it in a closet somewhere because there is no way my wife would let me display it. Too creepy for her tastes.

I hope someone here buys it though. Good luck, Karen!

Bidding ends today at noon. All payments MUST be made by tomorrow at 5pm.

I will post the link that payments need to be made to when the auctions are closed!

The walk is this Sunday. I didn't make my goal, but I have shattered all of my past fund raising efforts!

If you can't purchase, please, click on the link in my signature and make a donation. Every dollar helps!

I will be walking this year to honor a friend's brother who is dealing with breast cancer right now. And yes, I said BROTHER.
