I am not a big collector but I am in love with books and when I have a little money I buy them eagerly.
Anyway I have Hungarian editions (how interesting) and I thought some of you would be interested in them - however they are not so nice.

Here are the Hungarian DT editions (you can see I have only six of them because the last book hasn't been published yet):

Awesome collection though Letti, it's so neat to see the Hungarian perspective on the books.

Very, very nice, Letti!

My wife just got back from Hungary. Before she left, I told her to get me ANY Stephen King book, but she forgot! She and her sister are going back next year, so I'm going to show her your pictures (especially of the Dark Tower books) so she know what to get me.

I'm impressed as hell by anyone fluent enough to read an entire book in two different languages. Kudos to you, Letti!

Foreign editions are always interesting to see. Thanks for sharing.

Hope you like Odd Thomas. :)

Uh, thank you all. Really.
I love books.
I love my books.

I started to work in a restaurant as a cleaning lady when I was about 16 and it was my first workplace.. when I got my first payment in my life I ran to a bookshop and I started to buy books. I felt free. And I felt - "damn, it's good to work".
At home I put them on my bookshelf proudly.
I felt wonderful.

Thank you for the kind words.

Let me show you my oldest book.
It's from my favourite Hungarian author, Zsigmond Móricz. It's one of my favourite novels by him.
it was a present from a dear friend.

Look. (how simple but it was much cheaper to print this way)

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/Lettike/Books/old001.jpg

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/Lettike/Books/old002.jpg

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/Lettike/Books/old003.jpg

So it was published in 1922. It's 86 years old.

I got an amazing box from Jerome and I found these in it:

Great comic collection, Letti.

How hard is it for you to get US comics there?

It's almost impossible. Many companies don't deliver to Hungary because of the horrible post service. Many books, letters and packages get lost... so they don't want to take the risk and I can understand them.
We have some English book stores but usually they sell only books.
So it's quite hard.

Letti, i notice that you have some of your comics in protective covers that have, what looks like, paper on the back. I was just wondering if you, or anyone else, knows where they can be found. As i can only find the all plastic ones.

Really lovley collection btw.

Brice
12-16-2008, 04:43 PM
I think those are just thin cardboard backings that go with the bags. Any comic book shop should have them.

Letti, you have a lovely collection...and your comic collection has outgrown mine.

Patrick
12-16-2008, 11:49 PM
Brice is correct.

The boards are acid-free and sit behind the comic book and within the plastic bag. The board adds structural support which protects the comic book from bends, folds, creases, etc.

Bags and boards are available in all comic book specialty stores.

I would love to travel around Eastern Europe for a few months, and not go to the touresty places like prague or kracow(sp?) either. The culture and history is amazing and the beauty of the females... wow. Then again it may not be a good idea lol.

I don't know if I would visit Eastern Europe. Hostel and Hostel 2 took care of that dream. :panic:

Just kidding.:)

I have been dreaming about this day for long.
I went to Pen Dragon to buy some present for my dear friend Gabi who is having her birthday and I couldn't stop myself I had to check the DT books too.
It was waiting for me. I could feel it. I could tell it from the very first moment we met.
I love all the DT covers but it's my favourite.
Now it's on my shelf. Incredible.

I am in love with it.

And now I can tell I have DT7 four times. This is the first book I have bought 4 times. I have a feeling from now it won't be easy to stop..

Wow! I love that cover. I've never seen it. Is it a hardcover or paperback?

I have only one DTVII, but about eight or nine gunslingers.

You have never seen it before?!?! Incredible.
It's paperback.
Yeah, I would like to have more gunslingers, too. Right now I am hooked on DT7 but I am sure Gunslingers will find me soon. I hope so will money.

Way Cool collection!:clap: Those Hungarian covers are awesome. The covers for Delores Clayborne and Pet Semetery are scarier looking than the ones made in America.

Thank you so much, my collection is really small but I am very proud of it. :)

It wasn't easy for me, either. When it was published all of them got sold very fast. I could get it in a second-hand book store but it looks like a new one.

Yesterday I got a big package full of gift books. Thank you Matthew, thank you all of you who gave away your amazing books to make other people happy.
All of the books are great and I would like to share some of them here, as well.
