:rose:

We're five little items who stand in a line;
The first is the fourth, then add ten to a nine
For the second; the third is the fifth, and the fourth
Is the eighteenth, and then trek from south back to north
for the fifth--which is first, and the whole is a day
full of anger; the last which will soon come your way.

(Hope this is easier than my Winnie-the-Pooh one--but still challenging enough to be fun!)

I think I hurt myself

I hope it wasn't on this riddle.... :P

Seriously, this one's easy (at least compared to the Winnie-the-Pooh one), I promise.

I tried substituting for letters and got "DSERA", which I am sure means nothing.
From the title and the last line I feel it must have something to do with death.

So far...stumped.

What is it with J&Y and dope?

I'm a dope, all right? Sue me.

Anyway, so BROWNING'S CHILDE has got "D S E R A", what can you glean from that?

a day full of anger...

Is it the Dies Irae? Which is what the letters sound like when you say them in order...

BINGO!! :D

The goose goes to Maturins_Daughter, with heaping portions for BROWNING'S CHILDE!

Sorry this didn't go on for longer, but at least this time the answer was guessed!
