We need an image of a very old, leather bound book with the title

"Dark Tower Dictionary" on it.

Let me know if you can help.

I straightened out the 19 (it was bothering me a lot) and I added the Eld Sigul for something a little extra. Hope ya like it.

I've been trying to, but whatever I'm doing just makes the letters look more out of place. I will keep at it though and post back in a little.

Ok . . . Tried to work some magic. It's a little better . . . still not where I would like it to be but . . . Let me know what you guys think.

sarajean

better.

who decided that was the symbol of the eld, though, is what i'm wondering. :orely:

Thank you.

better.

I don't know. I thought it was . . . . I thought it was referenced as that in DT7 . . . And everytime I see it, the image is named 'Sigul of the Eld' or 'Eld Sigul'.

"It's on the barrel of Roland's gun."

sarajean

was there a picture of it, though?

because it's from the wingdings font. that's why i ask.

Kidd Ikarus

Yes . . .

"They show a picture in the book DT7, in the chapter, 'Roland Shows His ID'. He hands his gun over to Daddy Mose and his daughter, inside the Tet Corporation, and they both (i think) check it to see if the sigul is on the barrel. It's shown on the page, and once they see it, they take it as proof that Roland is who he says he is."

And you are 100% correct. I just checked it. It is "D" in Wingdings.

sarajean

i missed that. thanks for clarifying.

it bothers me that it's the D for some reason.

Yeah i know . . . it's seems very strange that this is the case and obviously it is . . . (thanks sj. i didn't know that's where it was from) . . . but given the case, I would assume that the symbol would be of a more . . . ah . . . prominent letter . . . if there is such a thing. :orely:

Woofer

Powlah, that looks almost as good as you. Nice job!

ETA: The title could be skewed up and to the right a bit to fall more in line with the angle of the cover, but other than that I think it's purrrrrfect.

Hehe, thanks, ladies.

And thanks for the tip, Woofer. :)
A friend of mine told me the same thing, but I think I'd have to start over to do that, so I'll probably leave it for later.

Very nice guys
Paula, I'm glad to see you doing more than cropping and resizing, very nice work. :)

I noticed this thread 5 minutes before I had to go yesterday, and so didn't have time to do anything. If this is still going strong on Monday, I'll try to make a little something as well.

I'm so sad. I did a dictionary image today and it was almost ready... then snap! Photoshop crashed down. :(

save your work every bloody minute. i should've learnt it already.

*wolfcomf* Lily-sai. I know whereof you speak. I try to be very good about saving and backing up, having had a horrendous experience in grad school, but sometimes - and I'm going to bet this happens to you - I get so lost in the work I am doing that I just completely forget to save. Gah. I try to build in distractions around me so that I will periodically save a new "_X.whatever" when I pause. Sometimes I even remember to do that.

Happily there is more time for you to build another. :couple:

after some delay, here's my attempt.
Fudged up the url text a little bit, but it was hard getting it to fit the bulgy strip of leather.
(not sure if bulgy is a word)

This contest is now closed you guys. Thanks for the images everyone, they look really cool.

I'm going to have a poll up in The Path of the Beam, plus a notice so everyone can vote on one of these and we can get started. :grouphug:
