This morning, Marsha over at the SKMB informed me that the man himself had noticed our efforts in the 2009 Haven Foundation Fund Raiser. He was kind enough to dictate an email which I just received.


Thanks to everybody who contributed both money and energy to The Haven Foundation fundraiser. To-date, we have helped almost two dozen freelance artists who continue to do good work in the face of adversity – sometimes more horrible than we can or want to imagine. Nobody else is doing this work, but we are. I am proud to be a part of it, and I am proud of all of you. And one more good thing has come of this: I will not be sending my friend, Pennywise, after any of you this year!

I really love this place. I feel like I know you guys in RL and not just on a message board. And look at what we did. We raised over $5K for - in the thoughtless and insensitive words of my coworker - writers who can't get a real job. Some people just don't understand art.
