I came up with the idea of having a post were we all could see the different illustrations that each book has. For example The Eyes of the Dragon has at least 3 different illustrators.

Since it would be better to have it organized, I suggest starting with Carrie.

Does anyone know about an edition that has an illustration at least?

My Carrie has no illustrations but oh please let me cry out: the pictures of my Eyes of the Dragon edition are awful.

Received from Alan Clark's website:

"Dear friends and supporters--

I'm offering as much as 50% off original artwork available from alanmclark.com.

The exceptions would be artwork in the "Bargain Basement" at ALANMCLARK.COM and those pieces going with me to Necronomicon this coming week. Any of the work going with me to Necronomicon would be similarly available upon my return from the convention.

If you are interested in specific pieces of my original art, please contact me for negotiations since this discount is not reflected in the prices at ALANMCLARK.COM.

This deal will run until the end of the month of October 2007.

Best,

Here's something you don't see too often.

Jerad at Centipede press (Salem's Lot illustrated ed) planned to edit a 30th anniversary edition of The Shining. JK Potter was going to be the illustrator, but King didn't want the project to become true so it was dissmissed.

But JK did two illustrations as a test. Not many know about this:

Another thing not many know.
Rick Berry did another small illustration in pencil for The Talisman, but it was never published.
He was kind enough to share it with me.

Artist: Jerry Uelsmann
Book: 'Salems Lot Illustrated Edition
State: Limited printing of photos. Thought to be only ~50-75 sets sold.
Note: These were too large to scan so they are photos of photos and suffer from a bit of parallax error. To view an even large image, go to the Gallery and click on my section in collections.
FYI, Uelsmann only printed 1-3 actual photos prints of these images. They sell through art galleries he mentions on his website (http://www.uelsmann.net/)for $2,000-$5,000.

From Jerad:

"Dear Ariel,

I could print up sets of the Uelsmann prints on my ink jet on some good
paper, but they would be expensive -- probably $100-$150 per set,
depending on the paper price. They'd be nicer than the ones that were
originally printed, but we would have to clear this with Jerry Uelsmann
first.

Let me ask him and see where it goes.

Best Regards"

Sorry, but I'm out. I can't pay that much.

So that's about $15-$20 per print? That's not unreasonable since it would be a special print run and he says that they'd be higher quality than the originals. I'd consider it, but at the end of the day I suspect I'd be likely to pass once the all-in price hits triple digits.

its not really about artwork, but i just didnt know where to put it, so...

you all know the Phantasia Limited ed of Firestarter..
you all remember the cover, right? (to refresh your memry ) :

http://www.stephenkingcollector.com/pictures/firestarternumbered.gif

so, imagine my surprise when I saw that an old french pocket ed (publishd by 1997 i think and reprinted in 1999) of Theodore Sturgeon's More than Human, did have this cover...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ESQBZ6HFL._SS500_.jpg
exactly the same, except reversed... on the backcover is written that the artwork is from MW but.... wow!
an artwork from a limited ed, into a pocket ed... !!!

yeah, i totally agree that the use of this cover is weird...

i am wondering if Michael Whelan is aware of this use... I guess that the french publisher did get the allowance to use it, from Phantasia press...

illustrations : i didnt add it in the topic on the tdt.net board, but the Pulse chapter, (from Cell) that were available online and in a EW mag i guess, do have some nice illustrations!

I just thought I would post that Alan M. Clark is using Horror Mall as his new store (It's the link in my sig). I just bought King's Crossroads remarqued. It's the cover to the new Stephen King: A Primary Bibliography from Cemetery Dance. He's got all his original plus a lot of prints for sale, including a few King ones.

I was going to fold it again when I saw that a Darrel Anderson's portfolio of Song of Susannah was announced.

Karen, any news on this? Why was it cancelled? (if it was...)

It would be awesome to see a new portfolio produced!
