I had to go with Cort. From the first time I met him, I've never forgotten him.

I think I'm going to have to go with John Cullum. Like Sam, but with a different character...there was something about him that just stuck with me.

I'll have to go with John Cullum because of his ordinariness. He is Everyman, just about as average as one can be, and yet he rises above this when the situation demands it. The very first time I read about John Cullum, I instantly formed the perfect (to me) mental image of the character - and I knew just the actor to play him. Never bothered to look up his name.

That actor is the gentleman in the foreground:

When I decided to post that image here, I looked up the actor by the role for which he is best known. To my surprise, the actor's name is John Cullum (http://www.aboutjohncullum.com/bio.htm).

Soooo, anyway, about the other choices. *cough*

Cort trains gunslingers, so he is one badass mofo. King has expertly painted that image of him for us and I daresay none of us can forget him if only for the impression he made on Roland.

Dick Hallorann is a man with a unique ability that factors prominently into the main plot of the novel in which he appears. Again, it would be hard to forget a character with his capabilities.

Gert Kinshaw sadly made such a slight impression on me that I had to Google the name to refresh my memory.

That's why I nearly voted for him. Hesitated between him and Cort for ages, and what finally decided me in favor of Cort was loyalty - I'de been with him longer than with John.

Tom Cullen would have been a very good inclusion in this poll
I voted John Cullum though, I was very proud of him, and related
to him and his actions on a very personal level. That fella was just
what the DR ordered given the situation our ka-tet was in. I think
Woofer said it all. I also rather like the actor she found, good choice
for the part indeed. :)

Remember to look at the Overview of the Appended Categories (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=7191) thread, which lists all the nominees and the books they come from.
