It, that part of the story always makes me extremely sad.

Duma Key is the only one I haven't read yet, but I'll get to it soon.

This was a very difficult decision. Every moment listed here had a profound impact on me. I think that I'll stay with my nomination.

The very fact that Peter is "only" an animal, as opposed to Oy and Wolf who are quite obviously more than that (to differing degrees and in differing ways), makes his fate much more horrible. He did not understand. There was only fear and confusion and sorrow - and an endless hell of it for a creature that lives almost entirely in the moment.
