Which book would you rather re-read: IT or The Shining?

This is the third and final round of our Constant Reader Awards. The top ten books advancing from the first two rounds will be competing in a series of polls against each other, based on re-readability. Every book will face-off with each of the other nine books in the top ten. Polls will last one week.

The winner of each poll will have 0.1 points added to its overall score. At the end of the round the scores will be compiled, giving us our true top ten listing and the winning title for the Best Stephen King Book Ever Published.

Please be sure to vote solely based on which book you would rather re-read in each face/off. If you have not read one or both of the titles, please select he "Never Read" option.

I'm voting for IT. I would like to give three cheers to The Shining for freaking me out big time.

I had to go with The Shining here simply because that book had my heart pounding. IT was a great read but never had my heart in my throat like The Shining did.

really? The Shining was a great story, but it seemed a bit...slow...to me.

Oh no, I'd say The Shining...
Definitely in the minority here, aren't I? :P
Although It was an amazing read...the first King book I ever devoured, as a matter of fact, I just have a special soft-spot for the shining.

I read It when I was a teen. I always had a problem reading a book after I seen the movie so never read The Shining since my parents exposed me to that nightmare when I was young. I think the memory of the movie has faded enough for me to try the read now. :orely:

I love them both but if I am going to re-read one of the two it will be IT. I just enjoy reading it more.

The Shining. I'd always heard that IT was the scariest read of all SK's works. Honestly, I love them equally, but I look forward to re-visiting The Overlook with more fervor. I've been to Derry too many times.

At first when I opened the thread I knew I was going to vote The Shining. BUT, the question said which would I prefer to re-read. Well, I have read The Shining three times and listened on audio twice. I have only read IT once, so I had to select IT. I just wish they would release it on Audio!
