I KNOW that I read about this here...and now I can't find it.

Can we/do we do the reputation point thing on this site?

I would love to give a good rep point to a post but can't find the handy button...

Since I don't even know what that is, I'm going to assume we don't do it here.

Hehehehehehe....No doubt it's me. My twin in some alternate reality read this on a mirror site...

Yeah...THAT's the ticket.

We're not actually using the reputation points on this board Kes...but it might be something we implement in the future.

Thanks Matt and no worries.

I just wanted to compliment some posters and *thought* I remembered reading about it in the FAQ.

I'm easily distracted....:)

I was on a board once with rep points but they were abused and died a miserable death.

I've been looking for the button as well :)
Think rep points are great tbh, both giving and recieving!
if it's green of course, but unlike most other forums I go to, I don't think there will be many people here giving red rep. people are too nice here :couple:

I'm on board with that in almost all cases.

isnt anything beyond the basic stuff like pictures/ profiles and emoticons for a forum just rather pointless?
I mean even "beambucks" r kinda silly, why continue piling on pointless features?

??

I don't consider them pointless, it is nice to have a distraction.

Like I said, beambucks are designed to use in the casino. :D

Rep points is a nice way of saying "nice post" (or something like that) without actually taking the thread off topic by writing in it.
I'm a sucker for strange little features, even though I don't use anything other than the forum itself here :)

I guess the pointless is based on perspective. If you don't use them, they're pointless. If you do, they aren't.

Since they're silly could you donate the 5,000 I donated to you back to me so I could donate them to someone who doesn't think they're silly? Thanks.

Isn't anything other than plain text pointless for a forum?
As long as a "feature" doesn't slow or inhibit page loading-yet provides some with joy-yet no one with pain, why worry?

Kes, could you maybe mean thread ratings? I'm thinking that might be what you (or your twin) remember seeing. There's a bar on the top of each thread that has a little dropdown and you can select from 1 to 5 stars (5 = excellent, 1 = terrible).
