ABB for me. Loved the plot, thought some of the characters were a bit "obvious", and I'm really not a fan of the Mia story.

All A's. This is among the strongest of the DT books. What I like about it is that it actually has a solid three act structure to it. Yes, there's more after the end of the battle that carries us into the next book, but this one could still stand alone quite well. The character development is quite good, particularly Callahan (about whom I would gladly have read another 500 pages) and the evolution of Jake's character.

BAA. I LOVE the story, but really hate the Mia subplot, so the plot gets a B.

I hated the Mia subplot too, Sam, but I thought it was executed well and thus I still gave that an A.

A,A,A.

This and DOTT are my favorites... usually. I was totally into the series and this book starts to finish is amazing. After the back story and flashback heavy Wizards (which I love too) this digs back into the tet with action and developments all over. All A's from me.:shoot:

ACA, but it's still one of my favorite DT books. C for character development because I think Slightman's conflict was too superficial.

But I loved the callahan Backstory. It was great to see what happened after Salem's Lot

That was one of the very few redeeming qualities of this book.

I'm surprised, alinda, that you're giving this one straight As, when you didn't like the previous book very much, same as me. But I thought a lot of problems with Wizard and Glass also carried over here.

Bears, too, love Wolves and are very dissatisfied with W&G. I think all similarities are only superficial; it's how this or that community was described that really matters. Mejis was mostly neither here nor there; in Calla Brin Sturgis, everything was clearly articulated, both the indivudual parts and the polyphony; what in Mejis was only banal and cliched, became really dramatic in Calla... what was insipid, acquired savor, grew real flesh and was filled with real blood; they became real people working on getting their own lives out of a dead-end...

 well said my ursine friend. WoC for me grabed me more.
I loved finding Callahan again, and meeting the people in the Calla.
Also, remember that Roland found Rosilita here, and I was happy
that he was able to have some peace with her. Also, the story
was just more in the present to me. All the "flashbacks" of W & G
was just too much for me, I wanted the happenings on the path
and was interested in what and where the katet was doing and where
they were going. Knowing more of where Roland came from was good,
but for me, not very interesting.
