Now that the holidays are over and life has (sort of) returned to normal (whatever that is) it's time for a new contest!

The article for the Guardians of the Beam can be found here (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=6134). That should give you some place to start - I'm interested to see what you all come up with. :D

Be sure to read the contest posting guidelines (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?t=1241) if you haven't done so already.

Contest will be open until February 9, 2009. Good luck, and have fun!

ohh, should be interesting. Sadly I'm sticking with my pencils.
I did pick up some paints to experiment with those at some point, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

ok, so I think my drawing is done, however I'm having issues scanning it. The paper is too big for my scanner, so I figured I'd scan it in pieces and piece it together in photoshop or something, but when I scanned it they came out different colors. I'll have to play around with it, but hopefully I'll be able to get it up soon.

They're all excellent representations of the animals, but that dog is especially good. It's so incredibly realistic.

join in , but after seeing Heathers, I couldnt compete
anyway and Lisas will be excellent so your in fine shape

Heather, that is totally amazing - I suck at shading and I'm totally jealous that you rock at it! :D You really get a lot of depth with it.
I also love the arrangement, with the beams and the Tower :cool:

I'm not very happy with the quality of the photo, I couldn't zoom in enough to get the detail without cutting out some of the animals - but I don't have a scanner, so this is as good as it gets :(

I was actually contemplating adding in Maerlyns rainbow to mine, and tried playing around with it in photoshop, but it just wasn't looking good.

It's a bit messy, I think I should have left all the outlining in pencil - that's the good thing about seeing it on the computer, it's a more critical eye!

Heather - I did the spheres with coloured inks, then I splashed them with water to make them go all weird.

No, I couldn't. I am so busy with everything. The problem is not time only, I am so tired when I go home. Especially psychologically.

Am I too late for this (feb 9 is cut off but does that mean I have till the end of tonight?)...I don't think I'd have enough time either way tonight. My life is just too busy! gosh, I did a lot of sketches before attempting this project, and I think I still will and will post it anyways, when it's done. Heather and Lisa, both of yours are so wonderful!
