Alas, never read, and there's hardly any chance I will before the poll closes.

I liked exactly one story in this book, N. If N were published in its own volume and we had to vote on that, it'd get at least a 4. The rest of this collection left a lot to be desired. A Very Tight Place was ok, but I prefer Poe for stories like that. I said the rest of what I had to say in the J.A.S. thread.

3.

I really enjoyed The Gingerbread Girl, N, Mute and A Very Tight Place but the rest was so-so for me.

This is a great collection, as are the rest of King's short story collections. He's a master. A five for sure.

This one will get more never reads than it should, simply by virtue of having just been published last month. Many will get the book for Christmas and not have a chance to read more than two stories. Would it be possible to let the time for this one book run a little longer to give people the chance to be able to read and vote?

I enjoyed every story in it. And more than half of them I LOVED. 5.

I'm almost done with this. I just finished N. and really, really enjoyed it. I'll come back and vote when I'm done.

Reasonably good overall, and a couple of very good ones ('N' being the pick).
Gave it a 4.

Another never read. I usually love King's short stories though, so I'm looking forward to it.

Kinda weird picking Never Read, when I've read about 75% of the stories. But since I haven't read them all it was "Never Read".

I think you can make a reasonable decision on how much you liked it if you've read most of it already. I mean, it IS a collection of stories, so if you liked the ones so far... Ya know? Just my opinion though.

I believe yes, you can make a decision on the majority of the contents.

Read a few of these before the collection. Lyrics come to mind, Carole King, So Far Away. Haunting. The stories, I mean. The difficulty of trying to contain something uncontainable, of trying to communicate something beyond words, the wanting to communicate with someone that is no longer there to talk to. You're so far away.

not yet read. The short story collections have historically been some of my favorites though. I will probably like many, but probably not all, of the stories.
The cover makes me want to vomit though.
