My wife reads mysteries and really enjoyed it. She read the whole thing during one of her chemo treatments. I don't read mysteries as a genre, and I enjoyed this immensely. I read the whole thing in a day. It's a quick read, and yet it makes you rethink the idea of a mystery. 5.

Yet another one I wish I could give a zero. We really should be able to give zeros.

From the cover I expected something a lot more pulpy (pulpish? pulpesque?) Whatever the word for what I expected is, this was not it. I absolutely hated this book both on audio and on paper.

I haven't read it yet. I have a copy on it's way to me--I should get it in the next day or two. If it's only a day's read I'll have to knock it out so I can give it a proper vote.

Four. Not necessarily your "usual" King book, but I liked it.

I gave a 2. I really wanted to like this story and it was a good build up (really loved the old newspaper guys too) but despite the warnings, it did annoy me that it never went anywhere.

My thoughts exactly. It was an okay read, okay characters but there was nothing to make it special or anything to make it stand out in my mind when I was done reading it.

3 It was ok, but not his greatest.

I don't like not having closure at the end of a book. It's like: What's the point of me reading it?

Open-endedness is good. I suppose this novel is more about evoking a feeling rather than actual plot and story.

I really liked this book. I think most people don't like it because the story doesn't have a conclusion...not in the usual sense but that's what I liked about it. The story wasn't about a mystery but mystery itself. A nice change of pace for him. Definitely not his best work though ;)
