I wish I could say something more than I've never read this one.

Never read it, and never will.

I'm a lifelong Yankees and Mets fan. The Red Sox can, in the words of Gordon Lachance, suck my fat one. Good for King and the Sox that they won a few Series championships. When they win 20 more, call me and I'll compare them to the Yankees.

'Never read' for me, too, and I probably never will either. I have a copy (of course) and it's signed by both King and Onan, but it's one that'll probably stay in "mint never read" condition.

Never Read. Though Jayson, isn't cheering for the Yankees a bit like going to a casino and cheering for the house?

The one and only written work by S. King that I have no interest in reading. It would probably serve me right if it was awesome.

Never read it, and never will.

I dislike the Red Sox, and basically any team that can spend 150 million on a payroll (I'm a Reds fan, small market). So I can say I'll never read this one. Too bad it's not a general baseball book, instead of a book on the Red Sox. I would read that one in a second. *shrug*

Not sure I get the metaphor. Wouldn't the house be the league itself?

never read it, I'm a cleveland indians fan and as far as we're concerned the red sox are just as evil as the yankees

Well, I'm a hockey fan and I find baseball a dull game (sorry). But I will read this one one of these days. So, another never read.

Wow, this book is getting a lot of hate and indifference. How weird.

Red Sox, Baby!

I tell you, being a life-long Red Sox fan, it's like Roland's search for the Tower and his repeating the search time and time again. To be a Red Sox fan is to have faith. It's to believe against all things that a Championship is possible. It's to never stop moving forward.

That may seem a bit much - but I honestly do see a correlation between Sai King being a Red Sox fan and The Dark Tower. :rose:

I'm Danish so I don't understand baseball at all. This is a book I've only read portions of. King's parts. O'Nan is too obsessed and detailed, whereas King talks about other stuff as well, and his sections are, as always, a good read. But, yeah, this book is not one to be re-read any soon, if ever.

i'm american and i don't understand baseball at all. if someone is throwing something at me at over 60mph i AM NOT going to just stand there and TRY to hit it. :panic: and then run around in a fucking diamond pattern? and then let somebody hit something that has just been thrown at them at over 60mph toward ME (so that it's going, what, 140mph) and hope that it doesn't hit me? what the fuck is wrong with those people? go read a book or something!

:P

Never read. I'm not really a fan of baseball.

I used to mock baseball fans by comparing it (unfavorably) to cricket, but now that they have that turbo-charged cricket I think that analogy is outdated.
