People say this is one of King's worst, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it felt a bit tough going in spots. I gave it a four.

I've tried twice, but never been able to make it through the whole thing.

never read it but I did see the mini series and thought it was ultra stupid. usually the mini series versions of Stephen King's works are though...

Thought it was good, although some of the side plot was boring.

A definite 5. One of my favorites for today.

Ooops, Aaron - Looks like you mistitled the book in the first entry. It says "Misery" at the top.

Now, this is my absolute least favorite of any Sai King book, ever. Honestly, I thought it was horrible. Giving it a 1.

you know, if i hadn't just reread this novel it would have gotten a 1. but i did so it didn't. it's amazing what a reread can do for a constant reader's opinion sometimes.

a 4 from me. :)

I am fascinated at imagining all the gadgets they made in the book. I try to think how exactly they work.

4 from me, I really enjoyed it.

What was it that people didn't like about it? :)

I never understood myself. It's a great little story...and I generally hate sci-fi.

I wasn't interested in the sci-fi part at all - bears never are - but I found the human part just perfect... Sometimes I am afraid it must have partly been due to my rereading it after the pointless, monotonous, repetitious, cud-chewing, navel-contemplating Lisey's Story; when I remember the Tommyknockers in more details, though (the Grandfather, and the whole little boys' line; and Gard with his poetry-reading tours, and people's changind, and the poor dog, and all minor characters, like state troopers etc, and the absolutely superb backstory of the town, etc, etc, etc), I realize that I am only rendering this novel its due. It is great, - mature King at his best.

I'm with Jean, although I read this only once. It's a fascinating book. I never understood why it was panned so much.

I typically prefer the long, multi-character King stories. While not the greatest of this kind of King book, I thought it was very good. I liked it even better upon re-read.
