Ugh. This one is a 1 for me. There was some good info in there, but overall I just wasn't impressed.

Still haven't gotten around to it, although I was able to finally procure a like-new Everest House first edition about a year ago.

I give this one a two. It has never been a fav of mine. On Writing though was a great read as well as full of useful information.

Maybe just because it's kinda outdated?

Average. There are some interesting pages, and there are miles of mediocre, boring stuff.

Gave it a 2.
Been years since I last picked this one up.

I would take out the "mediocre" but it wasn't that interesting on the whole so a 3 for me.

I dont think this book is comparable to king's works of fiction. Would I recommend this book to a King virgin? Certainly not. However, would I recommend the book to an aficionado of the horror genre? Definitely. I think King puts together a good list of must reads with valuable reviews.

Okay, who else is the total horror geek here?

That pretty much sums it up for me. I felt compelled to read it because it's King, but it did little for me. I gave it a 2.

Does that mean you loved this one? It's been on my too read list for awhile, but all the bad reviews keep making me push it to the back burner, even though it sounds like a really interesting read.

I'll say there are some really interesting tidbits in it, but I suggest you read it a chapter at a time, with other books in between. Otherwise it can get a bit boring.

Yes, I do love it. It is outdated, however, and best read in small chunks (as Daghain suggested). For the true horror nerd, though, it is a must read. My copy is very well thumbed.

Well then I must check it out. Maybe I'll just start reading a chapter here and there.

This is the first one I have had to vote "never read" :(

I'll need to listen to it soon.

Okay, who else is the total horror geek here?

That would be me. :) I've seen most of the movies and read most of the books he lists in it too.

Absolutely terrible. What a waste of my life reading this one.

I love this book. I know it's a little dated... but so am I. It's still one of my faves.
