I know a lot of people don't like this one (I see somebody gave it a 2 already), but this is one of my favorites. A great book!

I gave it a 4 because, while there were elements of Cujo I wasn't so interested in - I think the narrative and also the side story (the Dad's marketing campaign) was very good and something that I really enjoy as King's trademark.

I liked it, but didn't love it. It got a 4 from me. Another one that I haven't been itching to re-read, though I do remember it being pretty scary to me when I read it.

I know my books I'll be giving a 5 to already. Other than that though, I think I'll be giving most a 4 because I can't read a book I don't enjoy and there's been merit (however small in some cases) in every King story I've read.

I heard this was his worst book ever so I've never read it.

:orely: I don't even own it. Maybe I should just add it to the books to buy list.

Absolutely!

It actually took several repeated attempts for me to make it through the entire book. It just slogged along for me.

This one only gets a 3 from me, it is not one of my favorites. It was a good read but
it just doesn't rank high on my list of favs.

I pretty much feel the way alinda does about this one. Good, but not great. A definite 3 for me.

Wow, I feel so lonely being the only person to give this gem a 5... :(

I thought this one was ok but not a great novel so I gave it a 3.

This was my first ever Stephen King book. It was good enough to keep me reading King, but not my favorite. I gave it a 3. I should probably re-read it now that I'm older.

I'm in the same boat as you. It's one of the few books by King that I don't own. I'll eventually get around to reading it one day, but it's probably at the bottom of my to read King books.

A nasty little book. Reads like a Bachman.

When King got into Cujo's head, I thought it was brilliant! I loved that dog. He turned into a monster, but I loved him.

I gave it a 5. I'd rank quite a few King works under this one.

I really liked only one line of it - with that second (older) boy and his family

this may sound morbid, but i like the fact that the kid dies at the end. If he survived i probably would have given Cuja a 3 or 4 instead of five. because then it just becomes a (while still entertaining up until that point) thriller with a cliched ending.: mom and kid trapped, mom makes desperate last stand, save kid at last second.

Haven't read it yet, don't own it, haven't even seen the movie. Someday...

As those who have never read certain books (despite how long ago they may have been published) have been requested by the Directors to come into these threads and vote as such, shouldn't major spoilers be marked? (For instance, the ending of CUJO spoiler in the post above this one.) Thanks.

Yes, I think so...although I can't fix it myself in here.

Now Patrick you've got some reading to do. This is at least the second early King book that I've seen you haven't read yet, this morning. I am very disappointed.

I have read the book, and pretty much loved it. I have yet to see he movie but from youtube clips and trailers I have seen I doubt it does the book any justice.

RAZZ, YOUR SPOILER IS PRECISELY WHY THE BOOK IS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE. AND SIMILARLY WHY THE END OF THE MOVIE VERSION OF THE MIST IS BETTER THAN THE STORY.
