One from the Far East, accidentally dead, ‘neath tons of rock and debris?
Or an Australian’s ranch named for pastry shells, in the outback so wild and free?
Broken into segments, joints and limbs, antennae that flash with pride
Water to swim, land to walk, bones that live on the outside.

What am I?

"bones that live on the outside."

I'm thinking exoskeleton, crustacean, coral.

Just trying to warm things up.

I like Jon's guess...crustacean, possibly? (not too sure about the spelling)

I think it works with a few lines, at least. =/

Well Jon, your thinking is CLEAR, Crustacean is the correct answer.
Hot, steaming goose with succulent, golden brown, crusty skin for you, my friend.

I'd like to challenge the group to fill in the answers to the 1st two lines, tho. More goose is available.
